Europe stands at a defining moment: We have the chance to transform our industry and take the lead. As we step up to lead, and I'm confident we will, three imperatives stand before us. At yesterday's #EUROPE2025 conference, I outlined what these imperatives are: First, Europe must lead the clean-tech revolution. To get there, we need a culture that embraces failure. And "Failing big time" must be allowed – in fact, it's essential. Without the courage to fail, we won't achieve the breakthrough innovations our transformation demands. Second, we need a competitive framework that works. Stop micromanaging our industries and start enabling innovation. We need efficient energy systems, market-based solutions, and competitive electricity costs for energy-intensive sectors. The alternative is deindustrialization, and we cannot let that happen. Third, we must focus on what we, as businesses, can control. While external challenges persist, our focus must be our internal transformation. Digitalization and AI aren't buzzwords – they're tools to revolutionize R&D, production, and customer engagement. Our people, empowered by the right corporate culture, will drive this change. The path forward is clear. Europe can be the global lighthouse for an innovative and prosperous industry – but only if we make bold decisions and act decisively now. Who's in? Recycling is not an afterthought – it starts with smart design.♻️ When we talk about a circular economy in the polyurethane rigid foam industry, one thing is clear: these materials are recyclable and can be reintroduced as valuable raw materials. But the real key to sustainability? Preventing waste before it even happens. Dr. Andreas Huther, CEO of puren gmbh, explains how innovation is making this possible: ✅ Precision-cut insulation solutions that minimize material waste on-site ✅ Thoughtful product design that enables easy dismantling at the end of life ✅ Circular strategies that turn used materials into new, high-value applications 🎥 Watch the video to hear his thoughts on how we can build a more sustainable future. 👇 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/epcWa4Mj What do you think: How can we rethink waste in #construction? 🏗️ #BetterBuildings #MaterialSolutions

What happens when automation and digitalization meet formulation development? We’re about to find out! Our upcoming Automated Laboratory is set to revolutionize coatings and adhesives development, allowing us to test tens of thousands of formulations per year – faster, smarter, and more customer-specific. 🔎 This automated facility will also generate a large amount of structured data. The collected data, combined with measurement data from existing studies, is evaluated using special machine learning algorithms to further improve formulations for hardness, adhesion, gloss, durability and more. It also helps to accelerate the testing of partly bio-based and recycled raw materials. With 24/7 operations, it will transform how formulations are developed, helping us and our customers stay ahead of industry demands. 📍 Meet us at @European Coatings Show 2025, March 25-27, Hall 4A, Booth 438 and explore the next chapter of coatings and adhesives. ℹ Learn more about this topic: https://lnkd.in/e6yus8s9. #CircularEconomy

We are raising our ambitions - for energy efficiency and climate neutrality. As part of our climate strategy, we have published our energy efficiency target: By 2030, we want to use 20 percent less energy per tonne of product than we did in 2020, which equates to around 550,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions - roughly the same as the annual CO2 emissions of a city with around 70,000 inhabitants. The new target underlines our path to climate neutrality and shows ✅ Sustainable production is not a ‘nice-to-have’, but a must. ✅ Energy efficiency is a key lever for a sustainable industry. Curious about how we want to achieve this? 👉https://lnkd.in/eMw-EREV
